Sometimes we need a delicious tipple, that isn’t full of sweet mixers and no flavour. And this is the BOMB.
Using an incredibly pretty, and citrus infused French vermouth called Lillet. And I’ve finagled a way of making it sugar free – which for a cocktail is pretty special as they’re usually mixed with bags of it.
A friend came to visit me recently from Bermuda, and her and her husband turned up for dinner with a flask of this nectar. And a Bermudian lemon in their luggage to go with it!
We were totally blown away, it’s my drink of the summer, I can not get enough of it.
MAKES 2 Cocktails
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 200 ml water
- 30 ml Lillet Rose – just the most delicious discovery for me, I found iron Amazon:
- 30 ml Vodka (best you can get your hands on)
- Drop or two of maple syrup or honey if you must, we love it without
Pour the lemon juice into the water and stir together.
Add a couple of ice cubes to a pretty cocktail glass with a peel of lemon zest, and pour in the vodka and the Lillet, stirring to mix. Pour over the lemonade mixture until glass is full enough. Stir briefly and sip immediately.
